Educational Requirements
If
you have no experience in the mortgage brokerage industry, your first step is
to complete the minimum educational requirements to become registered as a
sub-mortgage broker in
British
Columbia.
There
is only one course, Mortgage Brokerage
in British Columbia, specifically designed to satisfy the minimum
educational requirements to become registered as a sub-mortgage broker in
British Columbia.
In certain cases, individuals may be permitted by the Registrar
of Mortgage Brokers to challenge the Mortgages Course. Details are
set out in the Mortgage Course Exemption/Challenge Package
Information.

Licensing
Once
you have successfully completed the minimum educational requirements, you then
have to meet and fulfill the Conditions
of Registration required by the Financial
Institutions Commission (FICOM) - Registrar of Mortgage Brokers.
A sub-mortgage broker is an employee of a mortgage broker. As the
intended employer, we would have to sponsor you to become registered
as a sub-mortgage broker.
